Diversifying Recruitment

This guidance is intended to support you to create a recruitment strategy that attracts and fairly considers a talented, diverse pool of candidates.

It should be used to inform your reflection and decision-making so that you can recognise how and where biases and inequalities can arise, and take steps to mitigate these.

Among others, you will find guidance on creating a recruitment strategy to diversify our staff community, from reaching and attracting diverse candidates, interviewing to deciding on the right candidate...

Family Friendly and Carer Initiatives

As an employer of choice, the University of Edinburgh aims to support staff in achieving a healthy work/life balance, recognising that many staff will have family and caring responsibilities and that all staff will have occasional need to be absent from work to attend to personal or domestic emergencies.

Gender Equality

The University is committed to recognising advancement of gender equality: representation, progression and success for all.

Our action plan takes into account the specific needs and responsibilities of women, non-binary and gender-diverse people, and the intersection of gender and other protected characteristics.

We also spotlight inspiring women from across the University.

LGBT+ Equality

The University is committed to eliminating discrimination and prejudice based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

The calendar is accurate, but some dates may vary regionally because they are determined by the lunar calendar. Jewish festivals usually begin at sundown on the previous day.
