LGBT+ Sub-Group

The LGBT+ sub-group is a thematic group of the University Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Committee (EDIC). The Group aims to improve the experiences of LGBT+ students and staff through taking community-informed and strategically aligned actions, while providing constructive challenge and active support to EDIC.

The foundation of the Sub-Group's Terms of Reference is the Public Sector Equality Duty’s (PSED) duty to, “foster good relations between people who share and people who do not share a relevant protected characteristic.”

While advocating for the University's LGBTQ+ community, the Sub-Group also engages in amplifying LGBTQ+ staff and student voices through storytelling - highlighting our lived experiences, and acknowledging the community's significant and valuable contributions to the University.
