International Women's Day events at The University of Edinburgh.

International Women's Day (IWD) (March 8) is a global day dedicated to the celebration of the social, economic, cultural and political achievements and the advancement of women worldwide as well as a call to action for advancing gender equality. 

The University celebrates International Women's Day (IWD) by hosting a series of annual lectures given by inspiring women speakers of international reputation.

IWD 2026's theme is Rights. Justice. Action.
